The beginning of the 108th Oklahoma State Fair is finally here!
The deep fryers are already fired up and the gates opened at 8 a.m. Thursday. And to help kick things off right, on Thursday, the Fair is offering a $2 admission.
Here are a few other things you should know. Buildings and exhibits will open at 10 a.m. The carnival starts at 1 p.m. It'll all shut down around 9 p.m.
On Friday, gates open again at 9 a.m. and will close at 10 p.m.
There're plenty of fried food and new rides to check out. Some new, and somewhat interesting foods will debut during this year's state fair, including Bacon Explosion Sundae, Deep Fried Giant Gummy Bears, Red Velvet Cinnamon Roll, and more.
Besides the food, fair-goers will also get to enjoy several new shows, attractions, and competitions.
"We have not one coaster, not two coasters, but three roller coasters. We have the crazy cat coaster, we have the largest portable roller coaster in north America," said Frank Zaitshik with Wade Shows Inc.
Fair organizers said there will be plenty of security roaming the grounds to keep you and your family safe.
They're also reminding everyone that guns or any type of weapons are not allowed on the fairgrounds and that includes concealed carry.
