Emergency crews have stopped an ammonia leak inside the Blazers Ice Centre on I-35 in Oklahoma City.

Three employees were inside the facility early Tuesday morning when they first noticed the smell in the building. One of the employees told our news crew on the scene he had trouble breathing and his eyes were burning.

The ammonia is used in the cooling system that helps keep the ice cool inside the building.

One of the workers said crews were there in the last couple days to do routine work on the cooling system, but the cause of Tuesday morning's leak is not known.

Firefighters were able to shut off the valve and are working to ventilate the building.

The employees told us the facility will still be open to the public on Tuesday.
