USGS Reports 3.0 Magnitude Earthquake Near Guthrie

The United States Geological Survey reported an earthquake near Guthrie, Thursday evening.

A 3.0 magnitude earthquake was reported at 7:08 p.m., three miles south, southeast of Guthrie and 12 miles north, northeast of Edmond. The depth was over one mile.

There are no reports of major injury or damage at this time.

According to the USGS, earthquakes with magnitudes ranging from 2.5 to 3.0 are generally the smallest ones felt by humans. Damage is more likely from quakes at a 4.0 magnitude and higher.
