Brady Memorial 5K Benefits United Way Of Central OK

The 4th Annual Robert E. Brady Memorial 5K will be held at 7 p.m. on September 27 at the Farmers Claims Center, located at 7340 W. Memorial Road in Oklahoma City.

The event was previously known as Blaze the Night, but it was renamed after Robert E. Brady passed away last year.

Registration is $25 in advance and $30 on the day of the memorial run.

Event organizers said 100 percent of the registration fees will benefit the United Way of Central Oklahoma, and they will also be collecting used running shoes to donate to Nike's Reuse-a-Shoe program.

Farmers' employees will have the opportunity to pick up their packets in house at the company store starting on September 25. Packet pick-up and registration will also be held at Red Coyote's Pack Pint Run, September 25-26. Participants can also register and pick up their packets at 5 p.m. on the day of the race.

Packets will include a t-shirt, bib and d-tag, smart wallet, glow stick, glow in the dark sunglasses, information from the United Way, and coupons for Kize Concepts, Chili's, McDonald's, Chick-fil-a, Zone 4 Fitness and Pampered Chef.

Red Coyote will provide prizes for top finishers, and the 1st Place Men's and 1st Place Women's Overall winners will receive entry into the 2015 OKC Memorial 5K.

The event will feature door prizes including gift cards from Polished Nails and Chili's, a Pampered Chef basket filled with goodies and a meet and greet with News 9's David Payne. Face painting, snow cones, popcorn and the Off the Hook food truck will also be available.

Empire Slice House, Kize Concepts, Zone 4 Fitness and the United Way will also be at the race. Other event sponsors include Solidtech, L & L Construction, Walker Forklift, Logo Promotion, Hill Chiropractic and Ailith Crossfit.

Organizers said the course is flat and fast. The race will be timed by DG Production and sanctioned by US Track & Field. It is also an OKC Landrunner's race.
