A 10-year-old girl in Bethany was kidnapped at gunpoint.
Police said she was forced out of a home then put into a car and taken from the scene, and witness said what happened next is frightening.
This involved gunfire erupting along a metro street. Monday night, three suspects are in the Oklahoma county jail.
The trio was arrested around 9:30 Sunday night.
“He came in with a weapon, with a gun, maybe a knife too and was trying to take my God daughter, and she was saying she didn't want to go,” said a friend of the family who asked not the be identified.
Police call it a home invasion that turned into a kidnapping, at gunpoint. A friend told News 9 David Cruz came into the home with a pistol while she was away.
“Very out of the ordinary, very. Just off the wall. I'm not even sure why,” said the friend.
Bethany Police said Sunday night, David, Severo, and Christopher Cruz forced their way inside the home near NW 23rd and Rockwell.
David was looking for an ex-girlfriend according to police, but she wasn't home at the time. So he allegedly took her 10-year-old daughter, forced her into his car, and took off.
Severo hopped in on the passenger's side.
“She's precious, and she's terrorized for the rest of her life,” she said.
The mother and her friend went looking for her daughter in a nearby neighborhood. Police said when they spotted David, he fired his gun in the air and then pistol whipped his ex-girlfriend while her friend was beaten by Severo.
Police were able to catch up with the three back at the home where the 10-year-old was kidnapped, and arrested.
“I'm floored. I'm just floored. I'm still in shock. We're all still in shock,” she said.
The 10-year-old was not hurt during the altercation. Police told News 9 David and Severo Cruz are both felons.
