OKC Fire Chief To Tour Areas Affected By California Wildfires

Oklahoma City's fire chief is headed out west to support those on the front lines of the California wildfires.

Chief Keith Bryant serves as President of the International Association of Fire Chiefs. He will tour the King Fire in California on Tuesday and Wednesday, September 23 and 24, 2014.

The King Fire began on September 13 and has grown to over 87,000 acres. The fire is located in northern California in El Dorado County and Placer County, in the vicinity of Lake Tahoe. Over 5,500 Fire Personnel are on scene battling this wild land blaze.

Ten homes and 22 other structures have been destroyed and over 21,000 additional homes and structures are threatened.

The Chief will bring encouragement and support to the firefighters risking their lives.
