A deadly shooting on Oklahoma City's northwest side left one man dead and the suspect on the loose.
It happened just before 3:30 a.m. Saturday at the Brownstone Apartments near NW 28th Street and N May Avenue. News 9 spoke to the family Saturday afternoon. They wouldn't talk on camera out of fear for their own safety, but did say the man killed was their loved one, 28-year-old Jamaris Miles.
Family members said Miles had been visiting his sister at the Brownstone Apartments near NW 28th Street and May Avenue, but was called back to the area by a friend early Saturday morning around 3:30 a.m. The family said he returned expecting a fight, but instead was shot multiple times inside a car outside the apartments. He died at the scene.

Several neighbors witnessed the commotion following the shots fired, including one man, who didn't want to be identified.
“I was actually asleep and the gunshots are what woke me up,” he said.
He lives near the scene and said it's common to see groups of people hanging out near the apartments.
“Everybody just doing their own thing, whatever that may be,” he said.
He said while there is a lot of crime in the area, the gatherings there typically don't become deadly.
“It seemed like somebody just said it was horseplay that went wrong, that's the word I received,” he said.
But the family said the senseless shooting stemmed from a fight between mutual friends, and now they just want to see justice for Miles, who they said was a loving and caring person, leaving behind eight young children.
No arrests have been made. Police have not released any suspect information at this time. If you have any information about this shooting, you're urged to call Crimestoppers at 235-7300.
