A man was arrested Thursday morning after his girlfriend accused him of strangling and assaulting her in their Edmond home.
The crime report states the incident started around 5 a.m. in the 1600 block of Korie Drive in Edmond.
According to Oklahoma City police, the victim told officers her boyfriend, 33-year-old Edward Gene Noreuil, woke her up and as she was getting dressed in her closet, Noreuil grabbed her around her neck and put a gun to her head.
The victim said Noreuil told her not to get dressed and forced her to crouch down in a corner of the closet while he sat down on a suitcase.
She said Noreuil then stated, “You are f***ing me over. I am going to kill you. I will blow your f***ing head off. I will kill you and then kill myself.”
Noreuil reportedly held the victim at gunpoint while talking to her for about three hours. She told police Noreuil was upset because of what she had on her Facebook page prior to when they started dating, which was about a one and a half years.
The victim said Noreuil allowed her to use the bathroom, but when she came out of the bathroom, he instructed her to lie down on the bed, and he laid down beside her with the gun still pointing at her.
The crime report states the victim told Noreuil she had to take formula to her baby's daycare, and he allowed her to get dressed and leave. She said she then picked up her child from the daycare and went to her mother's work.
According to report, additional units were called to the Edmond residence, because Noreuil was a suspected gang member. Officers said they found a blue suitcase in the closet and several weapons in the home including the handgun the victim described with a round inside the chamber.
Noreuil was transported to the Oklahoma County Jail on charges of domestic abuse by strangulation and assault and battery with a deadly weapon.
