Oklahoma City police said they were able to identify and arrest an armed robbery suspect because he had left his wallet containing his ID at the scene of the crime.

According to police, at about 9 p.m. Wednesday, officers responded to the report of an armed robbery at Arby's, located at 8104 NW Expressway.

A clerk told police that two men walked into the restaurant together. One man ordered a cup of water and walked to the side. The other man, later identified as 30-year-old R.D. Dial Jr., placed his wallet on the counter and acted as if he was going to place an order.

However, police said Dial pulled out a gun, pointed it at the clerk and demanded money. While the clerk was gathering money from the register, Dial reportedly said “Hurry up. Hurry up. I have kids to feed.”

Dial, police said, asked the clerk to give him the money from a second register as well. The clerk had trouble opening the second one. That's when Dial took off running from the restaurant.

However, Dial forgot one important thing. Police said he left his wallet with his ID in it on the counter.

The clerk recognized the person on the ID as Dial. Officers were able to locate Dial and take him into custody. Dial has been booked into the Oklahoma County Jail on one count of robbery with a firearm.

The man who came in with Dial was seen running out of the restaurant with him. However, police have not identified him at this time.
