Authorities are investigating an officer-involved shooting that happened in Seminole, Oklahoma, Saturday night.

According to the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation, at about 8:30 p.m. Saturday, Seminole police officers responded to a domestic disturbance involving a man with a knife at an apartment in the 1700 block of Grisso Street.

When officers arrived, they found 43-year-old Dwan Rich armed with knife in the breezeway of the apartment. Officers said they gave Rich multiple commands to drop the knife, but he refused to comply.

Officers said they Tasered Rich, but Rich continued to threaten the officers with the knife. That's when one officer fired a shot at Rich, striking him in the leg.

Rich was transported to an Oklahoma City hospital for treatment. He now faces multiple charges including assault and battery with a deadly weapon.

Seminole police requested the OSBI's help in the investigation. Agents spent Saturday night and Sunday gathering information. The District Attorney will determine whether whether the shooting was justified.
