The Cleveland County Sheriff's Office (CCSO) planned an event to collect expired or unwanted medications. Authorities hope residents will clean out their cabinets and turn in the excess drugs to keep them out of the wrong hands.

On Saturday, deputies will collect prescriptions at four sites in the region.

  • Homeland, 10700 S. Pennsylvania Avenue, Oklahoma City
  • Homeland, 1251 Alameda Street, Norman
  • Homeland, 2600 W. Robinson Street, Norman
  • Crest Foods, 1315 N. Eastern Avenue, Moore

The medicine will be destroyed at the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigations, according to CCSO.

The event runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 25.
