It was a very busy day for the Thunder.
An Oklahoma City spokesman confirmed that sharpshooter Anthony Morrow suffered a sprained MCL in practice on Thursday and will miss the start of the regular season. Morrow, a 43-percent career 3-point shooter, was added to bolster the Thunder's deep attack. With Kevin Durant already sidelined, Oklahoma City will begin the season without its top two deep shooters.
In other news, Shams Charania of RealGM is reporting that forward Lance Thomas has been guaranteed a regular-season roster spot. Thomas averaged three points a game in three seasons with the New Orleans Pelicans and won an NCAA Title with Duke in 2010.
OKC also announced that it has waived guard Michael Jenkins along with forwards Richard Solomon and Talib Zanna. Jenkins appeared in all seven preseason games for the Thunder and averaged 6.0 points, 1.7 rebounds and 1.7 assists in 17.5 minutes.
Solomon saw action in three preseason contests and recorded averages of 4.7 points and 3.3 rebounds in 11.9 minutes.
Zanna played in seven preseason games for Oklahoma City and averaged 4.4 points and 5.0 rebounds in 17.4 minutes.
