Oklahoma City police arrested a man who is accused of assaulting an officer Friday afternoon.
According to police, at about 3 p.m., an officer responded to the report of a man on drugs at a home in the 15800 block of Manning Drive.
Several witnesses told police that the man, later identified as 48-year-old Jeffrey Wolf, showed up at their home, acting very strange and agitated.
Witnesses said they tried to give Wolf a ride to the gas station to get gas for his vehicle. However, during the trip, Wolf grabbed the wheel and jerked it to the side.
When the witnesses and Wolf returned to the home, an officer arrived at the scene. That's when Wolf reportedly opened the officer's door and tried to grab his gun.
The officer said he secured the gun with his hands. Wolf then began gouging at the officer's eyes. The officer said he was moving his head back and forth to avoid the attack.
Witnesses were able to pull Wolf off the officer. That's when the officer used a Taser on Wolf to get him under control.
Wolf was then taken into custody and booked into the Oklahoma County Jail on charges of assault and battery on a police officer, and assault and battery on a city official.
