An Oklahoma City woman was arrested for stabbing her boyfriend after a booze-fueled argument at an apartment complex on the northwest side of the metro, early Friday morning.
OKC Police officers were initially called out to the scene at the Rockwell Terrace apartment complex, located in the 500 block of N. Rockwell Ave., to help a man gain entry to a unit to retrieve clothing for work.
The man told police that his girlfriend had been drinking all night and the two were arguing before she locked him out. He said he asked a maintenance worker at the complex to open the door for him so he could get the clothes.
While police were responding, dispatch reported that a fight broke out between the man and his girlfriend and that the man had been stabbed. Once on scene police located the victim standing in the parking lot.
The victim told police that when the maintenance worker opened the door to the unit, the girlfriend attacked, trying to push him out of the door before stabbing him in his back, around his left upper arm.
EMSA was called to the scene, and as they were treating the boyfriend, police made entry into the apartment. Inside police made contact with the suspect, 49-year-old Tonya London. Police say she was sitting on the floor with two knives next to her. One knife was stained in blood.
Officers were able to take London into custody without incident. She was booked into the Oklahoma County Jail on one count of Domestic Abuse and one count of Assault with a Dangerous Weapon. Details on a possible bond were not available.
The victim later advised police that this was not the first time he had been stabbed by London. He showed police another scar on his back and said, “This is where she stabbed me the first time, but I didn't call the police.”
