Wanda Pratt, mother of Oklahoma City Thunder star Kevin Durant, will speak at an Oklahoma City event for single mothers November 21, 2014.
When son Kevin was named the most valuable player in the NBA earlier this year, he spoke about the sacrifices his mother made to raise him and his brother, calling her the "real MVP."
Pratt said she used organized sports to help her sons - to instill Biblical, emotional and social values she believed in. Now she travels the country speaking to children and teens and sharing her experiences with single mothers and other women.
The Jingle Jangle Single Moms' Holiday Event is sponsored by Arise Ministries and will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Friday, November 21 at People's Church, 800 East Britton Road.
The free event described as a Friday night of fun and encouragement for single moms and their children birth through 5th grade.
Registration is required by Friday, November 14, or until the event limit is reached.
