A 3-year-old girl with special needs got to enjoy Halloween like other kids Friday night.

Ava Rivas has cerebral palsy and epilepsy, and she can't walk. However, she was able to attend Friday night's popular “Haunt The Zoo” with the help of EMSA paramedics.

EMSA transported Ava and her family to the event. The paramedics then wheeled Ava around, and helped her collect a full bag of candy.

Her mother Cinthia said she's very thankful. “It's always hard to talk about it,” she said.

“It's hard because we almost lost her when she was born.”

EMSA has had a partnership with the Oklahoma City Zoo for 14 years.
