Just after 5 p.m. Friday emergency crews responded to a crash involving two vehicles on the 3400 block of Classen Boulevard in Norman. Witnesses told police both vehicles were headed north and the driver of a Dodge Durango hit a Nissan pickup forcing it off the roadway.

After the crash, the driver of the Durango left the scene, but several witnesses followed the driver. Those witnesses contacted police about the incident.

Deputies from Cleveland County Sheriff's Department found the driver, who was not injured, and made an arrest. The driver is behind bars on unrelated charges and could face more charges pending the outcome of the investigation, authorities said.

A portion of Classen Boulevard between Highway 9 south to Cedar Lane was closed for several hours because of the incident.
