3.0 Magnitude Quake Shakes Near Medford

The United States Geological Survey (USGS) reported an earthquake in Grant County Saturday evening. The 3.0 magnitude quake was less than a mile deep.

It shook the area one mile southeast of Medford and 27 miles north, northeast of Enid at 7:58 p.m. Saturday, according to the USGS.

There are no reports of major injury or damage at this time.

According to the USGS, earthquakes with magnitudes ranging from 2.5 to 3.0 are generally the smallest ones felt by humans. Damage is more likely from quakes at a 4.0 magnitude and higher.
