A telephone scam on Tuesday led to a death threat against an Oklahoma City Metro Area woman.

“Candace” is a single mom who says she's received hundreds of angry voicemails from callers since late last week. The Better Business Bureau (BBB) says “Candace” is a victim of what's called the “Caller ID Spoofing” Scam.

A criminal has used the woman's cell phone number to call hundreds of other people, offering bogus goods or services.

“Candace” played several hateful voicemails for us on Wednesday. This is one she received Tuesday.

“If you scam me, you scam your momma! You understand that? Now you call this number again and I'll kill you! You understand that?” the irate man said.

The Central Oklahoma BBB says victims like “Candace” should file a complaint with the BBB, and file a report with their local police department.

“I feel like they've invaded my life is how I feel,” the emotional woman told News 9 Wednesday night.
