Oklahoma City firefighters say they found a body when responding to a report of a house fire Sunday morning. The call came in after smoke was seen in the 2700 block of Southwest 51st.
Crews responded to the home and quickly put out the fire, according to Public Information Officer Brian Stanland, OKC Fire Department. They found a deceased victim after making entry to the home.
Stanland said that it appears the victim died in the fire, though the investigation is in its early stages. The medical examiner will determine the cause of death and release the name of the victim.
The fire did not appear to be suspicious, he said.
