Two people are behind bars for stealing from gravesites at an Edmond cemetery over the weekend.

Just after 1:30 p.m. Sunday, officers responded to Gracelawn Cemetery located at Danforth and Broadway after receiving a call that two people were stealing statues and flowers from gravesites.

Police arrested Amy Thompson, 41, and Alan Burton, 53, on the charges of Grand Larceny after discovering the pair had indeed been stealing from headstones at the cemetery.

Thompson was also arrested on charges of Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Concealing a Lost or Mislaid Card.

The pair was driving a U-Haul box truck and had 11 statues and at least 20 flower bouquets inside. Edmond Police did not say exactly how much the pair had stolen.
