Much had been made about TaShawn Thomas' transfer from Houston to Oklahoma this season. Saturday against Tulsa, Thomas finally showed fans what the OU coaching staff had been so excited about.

Thomas scored a game-high 25 points to lead the Sooners to an 87-68 win over the Golden Hurricane.

OU got on the board first with a layup from Thomas off an assist from Jordan Woodard, who had nine for the game against just a single turnover. By the 14:16 mark, OU had opened up a 15-6 lead on TU. Two minutes later, though, the Golden Hurricane cut the Sooner lead to four.

OU didn't allow Tulsa to eat away at its lead for long. Behind a dominating first half showing from Thomas and timely shooting, OU went on to lead at the half, 43-32.

The second half opened up with a couple layups between the two teams. TU began to fall further behind after Hield knocked down a basket from behind the arc, advancing OU's lead 50-36.

With 8:36 left to play, OU began to dominate, opening up a 74-51 lead. TU continued to fight, as James Woodard hit a 3-pointer, cutting Oklahoma's lead down to 16. Cousins responded right back with an OU 3, and the Sooners cruised from there.

Cousins had 21 points and hit five 3-pointers. He also contributed eight rebounds, two steals, and one assist.

Harrison led TU with 21 points, five rebounds, and five assists. He also had one steal and two blocks.

Oklahoma takes on Oral Roberts a 6 p.m. on Tuesday night in Norman, while TU will return to the court Wednesday to take on Missouri State. That game tips off at 7 p.m. in the Reynolds Center.
