It's time to make those New Year's plans, and this year's "Opening Night" downtown promises to be spectacular.

Shoppers at Penn Square Mall got a preview of a few of this year's performers on Friday.

“What we love about Opening Night is it's a big party downtown. We close off the streets so people can roam freely. You really get that sense of togetherness,” said Christina Foss, Arts Council of Oklahoma City

The event sprawling from 4th to Reno and E K Gaylord to Shartel promises to be a downtown block party of fun celebrating the last night of 2014.

“We encourage you to please bring your families. We have a huge children's area at the Cox Convention Center. Plenty of Children's activities going on,” she said.

And the plan for the 2015 count down changed this year.

This year's midnight countdown will take place in Bicentennial Park providing a spectacular backdrop for the firework show.

Wristbands for the event are $8 before Wednesday night or $10 that night.
