An Oklahoma City woman is facing a domestic battery charge after slashing her boyfriend in the face with a pair of scissors on Saturday.
Officers were called out to the Fountain Lake apartment complex, located at 14025 N. Eastern Ave., in regards to a domestic incident, and while in transit the call was updated that the suspect had stabbed the victim in the face with a pair of scissors.
When police arrived they located the suspect, 21-year-old Destiny Campanella, standing outside of the apartment building. They also located the victim who had a stab wound on his left cheek.
The victim told police he was in the shower when Campanella entered the bathroom and attempted to take his cell phone because she believed that he was texting other girls. The two got into an argument and he said Campanella swung a pair of scissors at him, cutting the left sleeve of his shirt.
The altercation then spread into the living room where Campanella swung the scissors again, cutting the victim on his cheek.
While an officer was speaking with the victim, Campanella began complaining of breathing difficulties and was put into an EMSA unit to be medically cleared. After being looked at by medical staff, officers informed Campanella that she was going to be placed under arrest.
According to the police report, Campanella then acted as if she were going to pass out and fell to the ground, but appeared to be faking the whole episode. As a precaution she was transported to Southwest Medical Center to be evaluated.
While at the hospital, police were finally able to get Campanella's side of the story. She said that during the argument her boyfriend pushed her and she pushed him back. She said at some point she ended up on the bathroom floor with her boyfriend standing over her/ It was at this point that she says she stabbed him with the scissors.
Campanella was then transported to the Oklahoma County Jail and booked on one count of Domestic Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon. She has already bonded out.
