An Oklahoma City man was arrested on multiple complaints after police said he choked a woman with a chain and then held her against her will.
The victim told police that she had been in a romantic relationship with the suspect, 27-year-old Michael Don Brown, for a year and a half. However, she now has a valid VPO against Brown.
The victim said on Friday, December 26, she arrived home to find Brown standing at the corner of her house. She said Brown refused to leave and pushed her into the house as soon as she opened the door.
According to police, the victim and Brown began arguing. That's when Brown put a chain around the victim's neck and began choking her. The victim said she lost consciousness during the process and woke up on the bedroom floor.
The victim told police that Brown tied her hands behind her back with the chain and locked it with a padlock. He then shut the bedroom door and left the house in the victim's car.
Police said Brown returned about 30 minutes later and began apologizing to the victim. He unlocked the padlock, removed the chain and asked the victim for a ride. After giving Brown a ride, the victim went to a friend's house where she called police.
Brown was arrested and booked into the Oklahoma County Jail on Monday. He now faces multiple charges, including first-degree burglary, domestic abuse by strangulation, kidnapping, first-degree robbery, and violation of VPO. A bond has not been set for Brown.
