Gang Unit Arrests Suspect In Shooting Death Of OKC Woman

Authorities made an arrest in the shooting death of a 19-year-old Oklahoma City woman. Saturday afternoon, the Oklahoma City Police Department (OCPD) arrested 18-year-old Daryan Jones for the New Year's Day homicide.

OCPD said its gang unit officers found the suspect on the 11000 block of N. Roxboro. Authorities said the suspect attempted to flee out of a second story window, but was later taken into custody inside the apartment.

The drive-by shooting killed Nesha Washington, a student at Langston University. Police said she was sitting in her bedroom at a home on John Robert Drive when shots began firing.
