About 70 members of an Oklahoma Army National Guard Artillery Battery returned from Afghanistan Friday morning, to a large celebration.

After seven months in Afghanistan, Battery B, 1st Battalion returned at the Mustang Armed Forces Reserve Center. While overseas, they provided artillery fire support for coalition forces, and also provided defense for the U-S base in Kabul.

And after a few speakers, it was the moment everyone in the room had been waiting for.

“Dismissed”.

After that it was all hugs, kisses, and even a first time meeting. One soldier got to see his five-month-old daughter for the very first time

The troops told News 9, they missed going out to eat without being in uniform and the food in Oklahoma.

But all of them said they missed one thing above anything else, family.
