A metro man was arrested Friday after police found him slumped over in his car with an infant in the back seat.
Authorities said 25-year-old Jonathan Deere was passed out behind the wheel in a car sitting on May Avenue just north of N.W. 10th Street Friday just before 11 p.m.
Oklahoma City police officers said they smelled alcohol and burnt marijuana on his breath and the man could not stand without assistance or speak clearly.
During a search of the vehicle, officers found a partially burnt marijuana cigarette in the front center console and a half-full bottle of vodka under the floor board beneath the child's seat. Officers allowed Deere to hold the 18-month-old child so he would stop crying until his mother arrived on scene.
Deere was booked into the Oklahoma County Jail for child endangerment, two counts of driving under the influence of drugs, obstructing the flow of traffic and possession of marijuana.
