A Weatherford woman accused of killing her daughter appears in court for the first time after being arrested earlier this week. Authorities found the body of 32-year-old Vitoria Garcia on Monday with gunshot wounds to the head.

Isabel Garcia's first appearance before a judge didn't take long and neither did the judge's decision to deny her bond.

Family members of Isabela Garcia broke down and left the courtroom after a judge denied her bond Wednesday afternoon.

Garcia was charged with first degree murder after authorities said she shot her daughter five times in the head.

Police were called to the mother and daughter's Weatherford home just before noon Monday and said Garcia never left the crime scene.

"She was at the residence when the officers arrived," Weatherford Police Chief Louis Flowers said.

Garcia was arrested that evening. Detectives believe she used her own gun to kill her daughter, but they don't know why or what led up to such a violent act.

"Right now that's not 100 percent for sure as far as the motive right now," Flowers said.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for February 20.
