Potato Beer Cheese Soup

1 package hash brown potatoes, thawed

1 onion, chopped

1/2 stick unsalted butter

4 cups chicken broth

1 can beer

2 cups milk

2 tablespoon corn starch

2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

Bacon bits and green onions for garnish

In a sauté pan cook the onions in butter till tender. Place the onions, hash browns, chicken broth, beer, milk in the slow cooker and cook for 4 hours in low. Add the corn starch and stir well to combine. Cook on high for an additional hour. Serve with crumbled bacon and green onion on top!
