An Oklahoma City man was arrested after police said he robbed a friend at gunpoint.
According to police, at about 8:30 p.m. on Friday, January 30, officers responded to the report of an armed robbery. The victim told police that he had just been robbed at gunpoint by a friend of six years, 21-year-old Tyler Shane Giles.
The victim said he was going to buy a car, and Giles was going to go with him and co-sign on the car. The victim said they drove to a bank where he got $840 in cash out of his bank account. After they left the bank, they drove to a 7-Eleven store, located in the 1000 block of S.W. 74th Street.
However, before the victim could get out of the car, police said Giles pulled out a black handgun and pointed it at the victim, demanding all of his money.
The victim said he gave Giles all of his cash. Giles then got out of the vehicle and took off running. The victim was able to call police for help.
An officer later located Giles in the 7900 block of S. Eastern Avenue and took him into custody. Giles was booked into the Oklahoma County Jail on a complaint of robbery with a firearm. He's being held on $20,000 bond.
