Surveillance cameras were rolling when the thief busted through the wall of a family liquor store located near Reno Ave. and South Cemetery Rd. in Oklahoma City.
It's back to business as usual here at the Twisted Cork liquor store for owner Andy Williams. He still can't believe the thief had the nerve to break into his business. Especially with all of the surveillance cameras in plain view.
“What happened was minimal you know nobody was here, nobody got hurt it could have been a lot worse than it was,” said Williams.
Williams is just glad the thirsty thief left most of his inventory intact and decided not to trash the place.
As it turns out, the crook broke in through a fire door located in the back of the row of businesses. Williams thinks he used a crow bar to pry his way in.
“It's a little crazy. I guess he thought that coming through the wall he wouldn't get any kind of detection. But luckily we were able to get him," Williams said.
Fast forward a bit and you see the thief enter the front of the store. He heads right to the register area, where he yanks out the cash drawer and then takes off.
“You can tell he knew exactly where he was going.”
But despite that, Williams said he knows the thief never worked for him, since most of his employees are family. The suspect not only took the cash drawer, he also swiped a couple of bottles of whiskey, Crown Royal Reserve to be exact.
“Must have been a Crown drinker cause that's all he took. It could have been a lot worse.”
Now, Williams just needs to patch up the hole in the wall and make up for the little bit of cash and Crown that was taken.
“You know it just hurts when somebody takes your stuff. Hopefully he gets caught.”
