3.4 Magnitude Earthquake Reported Near Perry

The United States Geological Survey (USGS) reported an earthquake near Perry Saturday evening.

The 3.4 magnitude quake shook the area two miles south, southeast of Perry and 15 miles northwest of Stillwater at 10:41 p.m., according to the USGS.

The earthquake was more than two miles deep.

There are no reports of major injury or damage at this time.

According to the USGS, earthquakes with magnitudes ranging from 2.5 to 3.0 are generally the smallest ones felt by humans. Damage is more likely from quakes at a 4.0 magnitude and higher.
