A Clinton woman died after a rollover crash in Custer County around 2 p.m. Saturday, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol (OHP).

OHP said 28-year-old Kristi Gray was heading east on I-40 near milemarker 58 when for an unknown reason went off the roadway to the right. Authorities said Gray then over-corrected to the left and entered a broad slide. The Dodge pickup hit the cable barrier and rolled an unknown amount of times before stopping in the westbound lanes of traffic, according to OHP. Investigators said Gray was ejected from the vehicle.

The cause of the crash was unknown. The airbags were equipped in the vehicle, but did not deploy and the seatbelt was equipped but not in use, according to a law enforcement report.

Gray was taken to Clinton Regional Hospital and pronounced dead due to her injuries. OHP said Gray's next of kin were notified.
