Two Suspects Arrested For Armed Robbery At Metro Wal-Mart

Two suspects are in custody for the armed robbery of an individual at a metro Wal-Mart.

Stevin Deandre Austin, 18, and Damuria V. Walton, 19, were arrested and booked on charges of armed robbery with a firearm, possession of firearm, and unauthorized use of a credit card, Thursday.

The incident occurred just before 7:30 a.m., when an officer responded to an armed robbery call at the 100 E. I-240 Wal-Mart.

The victim told police, when she parked and got out of her vehicle a male suspect approached her pointing a silver handgun. She said the suspect then demanded everything she had, which included her purse and cell phone.

The suspect then got in the passenger of a dark colored SUV and took off.

While still on scene, the victim contacted her husband who said a debit card in her name had been used at Foodmart at 5924 S. Sunnylane.

Officers arrived at that location and checked the surveillance video. The video confirmed the description of the suspect's vehicle.

A short time later, two officers located the vehicle at 4508 Sunnyview Drive. Both Austin and Walton were taken into custody.

Walton had one of the victim's credit cards on his person and also a personalized check. The firearm was also located in the console of the SUV. Both were taken to the Oklahoma County Jail.

A call was made to the station in reference to the vehicle used by the suspects. The owner of the vehicle told police that the suspects didn't have permission to use it and awoke to find the keys along with the car missing.

Now, Austin, who was the driver, is facing an additional charge of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.
