The United States Geological Survey (USGS) reported an earthquake in Payne County Saturday evening.
The 3.1 magnitude quake shook the area two miles west, southwest of Cushing and 17 miles southeast of Stillwater at 6:05 p.m., according to the USGS.
The earthquake was more than a mile deep, the USGS said.
There are no reports of major injury or damage at this time.
According to the USGS, earthquakes with magnitudes ranging from 2.5 to 3.0 are generally the smallest ones felt by humans. Damage is more likely from quakes at a 4.0 magnitude and higher.
