Authorities Identify OKC Woman Found Dead Following House Fire

Authorities have identified a woman who was found dead following a house fire in southwest Oklahoma City, Tuesday morning.

Authorities have identified a woman who was found dead following a house fire in southwest Oklahoma City, Tuesday morning.

According to the fire department, just after 11:30 a.m., firefighters responded to the report of a house fire in the 1100 block of S.W. 50th.

Fire officials said when they arrived, the fire had already taken over the home. An elderly woman, later identified as Josephine Pittman, was found dead at the home.

Authorities said another woman was injured while trying to pull Pittman out of the home after the fire broke out. The injured woman was transported from the scene via ambulance for burn injuries. Her condition is not known.

The cause of the fire has not been determined and is still under investigation.
