A man was arrested after police said he repeatedly hit another man with a horse twitch at Remington Park in Oklahoma City.
According to police, just before 1 p.m. Sunday, officers responded to the report of an assault with a dangerous weapon at Remington Park, located at 1 Remington Place.
The victim told police that 65-year-old James Everett Smith was riding on a horse when he started beating the victim in the head with an oak piece of wood, also known as a horse twitch.
The victim said he was hit about 20 to 30 times. He said he had made numerous complaints with Remington Park about Smith threatening him. The victim said Smith believes that the victim owes him money.
Smith told police that the victim owes him $1,200 and has refused to pay him.
Another witness at the scene told police that she saw Smith hitting the victim with a piece of wood.
Smith was arrested and booked into the Oklahoma County Jail on a complaint of assault with a dangerous weapon. He is being held on $5,000 bond.
