Police are searching for a suspect who fled while authorities were attempting to bring him into custody on Thursday.
Police have identified the suspect as 28-year-old Jamelle Thompson. According to court documents, the bondsman was serving warrants against Thompson for a number of charges including domestic abuse, rape and kidnapping.
Oklahoma City Police tell News 9 while trying to apprehend Thompson in an area near NE 16th St. and N. Coltrane Rd., a struggle ensued and the bondsman opened fire at Thompson. Thompson managed to get away into a wooded area nearby, but it is unclear if any of the bondsman’s shots struck Thompson.
K9 units and OKCPD’s Air One have been called in to assist with the search.
