Bob Stoops held his weekly press conference on Monday and this week’s opponent: the Texas Longhorns. And Stoops wasn’t about to pile on Texas after their 1-4 start.
“Their four losses are to four ranked teams and it was just pointed out to me that those four teams are 19-1,” Stoops said. “So they’ve probably played the toughest schedule of anybody at this point in the country.”
Stoops was still upset with the penalties and turnovers in the West Virginia game despite the way Oklahoma ran away with that game in the fourth quarter.
“I’m still really angry at our team and disappointed on our lack of discipline,” he said. “We got way too many foolish penalties that will hurt us. We continue to have two turnovers a game which can’t happen. We’ve gotta do some things across the board in every area to get better and that’s what we’re going to focus on.”
At this point, Stoops would only note Stanvon Taylor being ruled out of playing at the Cotton Bowl this weekend. “Everybody else really checked out in the training room yesterday.”
