Beef and Barley Soup

1 pound stew meat, cubed

9 cups water

3 1/2 teaspoon beef soup base

1 onion, chopped

1 cup celery, chopped

1 cup shredded carrots

2 cups hash brown potatoes, shredded and thawed

1 1/2 barley

Brown the meat in a skillet till browned. Add the meat, water, soup base, onion, celery and carrots to the slow cooker bowl. Cook on High for 6 hours. Add in the hash browns and cook for one more hour and then add the barley and cook an additional hour. Serve!
