Norman Half-Cent Sales Tax Passes

Norman residents have voted and a half-cent sales tax increase has passed.

Norman residents have voted and a half-cent sales tax increase has passed.

The increase was passed by 72 percent of the votes.

According to unofficial results, 9,089 voted in favor of the tax and 3,525 opposed it.

The tax increase is to help fund projects costing $150 million including a new library and sprucing up several city parks and recreation projects.

The increase will last for 15 years.
