Police arrested a man who is accused of robbing a woman of more than $400 in cash in southeast Oklahoma City.

According to police, on Friday, October 16, officers responded to the report of a robbery in the 400 block of S.E. 44th Street.

A woman told police she had just cashed a check of $426.55 at the food mart. She said she walked out of the store, got into her vehicle and closed the door. That’s when a man opened her door, shoved her and told her to give him her money.

The victim said she gave the suspect the cash. The man then ran away from the scene.

Officers responded to the scene and found a man who matched the suspect description. Police said the man, later identified as 52-year-old Bufford Tyrone Wilson, also had $422 in his possession when officers found him. The victim positively identified Wilson as the man who robbed her.

Wilson was arrested and booked into the Oklahoma County Jail on robbery complaints. Police said he also had two Oklahoma County warrants for robbery, and a Blain County warrant for burglary.
