OKC Police Arrest Three In Connection To Deadly Shooting

Oklahoma City police arrested three people in connection to a deadly shooting that happened over the weekend.

Oklahoma City police arrested three people in connection to a deadly shooting that happened over the weekend.

According to police, at about 4:20 a.m. Sunday, officers responded to the report of a shooting at the Oak Grove Apartments, located in the 1600 block of S. Grand Blvd. When they arrived, they found one victim, 40-year-old Jeremy Neil Johnson, inside of a vehicle. Johnson appeared to have been shot to death.

During the investigation, officers learned that the shots were fired inside the vehicle, and there were five people inside at the time. Three people, identified as 29-year-old Bobby Dean Whorton, 30-year-old James Larry Gene Northam, and 40-year-old Diane Squyres, were inside the vehicle at the time of the shooting and they did not suffer life-threatening injuries.

According to Oklahoma City police, about two hours after the shooting, officers received a report of an assault on a cab driver by a woman and man near Interstate 40 and Portland Ave.. The cab driver said the two had gotten out of the vehicle before officers arrived. He said both people talked about their involvement in the shooting at the Oak Grove Apartments.

Whorton was later taken into custody on complaints of first-degree murder and conspiracy of robbery with a dangerous weapon. Northam and Squyres were both arrested on complaints of felony murder and conspiracy of robbery with a dangerous weapon.

Johnson’s death is Oklahoma City’s 77th homicide of 2015, according to police.
