Neighbors identify the man who was stabbed and killed early Wednesday morning, as 51-year-old Arthur Du.

Records at the Oklahoma County Tax Assessor’s office show Du and his family bought the home along the 2800 block of 79th Street back in 2008.Neighbors say Arthur Du was very nice and very helpful. But they admit they did hear fights coming from the home from time to time.

“It was very unexpected, very sad,” said neighbor Germaine Shock.

Shock said she woke up to find police taping off their neighborhood street, but it was her husband who told her their next door neighbor Arthur had been killed. She said she couldn't believe it.

“He would always mow our side of the lawn when he mowed,” said Shock. “Super friendly. He and my husband would chit chat and things like that.”

Oklahoma City police responded to the home just after 2 a.m. Wednesday, after getting a call about an assault with a deadly weapon. When they arrived, they found the victim's son waiting in the front yard and Arthur dead inside.

Shock said they never heard anything out of the ordinary coming from the home, except for a little family spat here and there. And she said the son seemed just as nice as his father.

“The couple of times I did encounter his son he seemed friendly enough,” said Shock. “I would wave and he would wave and smile he seemed very together.”

Now neighbors, friends and family are wondering what could have led to the deadly encounter and what could have stopped it.

Right now, Long Du, 20, is in the Oklahoma County Jail accused of murder.
