Close to 200 Lake Hefner residents sounded off Thursday night, after learning about possible development plans on the south end of the lake.

The city hired a team of architects and they hosted public input sessions Tuesday and Thursday night at John Marshall High School.

The overwhelming sentiment is that lake residents don't want any new development.

"That part of the lake is a residential area.  Why not develop a speck of it?  It will cause runoff into the lake, that would have a very negative impact,” said Lake Hefner resident Ava Beeby.

Architect and Project Manager Isaac Hines said his team will give recommendations to the city in the next one to two years.
