The Director of the FBI says the Islamic State is recruiting terrorists all over the United States. And Oklahoma’s Director of Homeland Security says the FBI has reasons to feel that way.
Kim Carter has spent 38 years working in Oklahoma law enforcement, first with Oklahoma City Police, and then with the OSBI. He said the FBI Director isn’t trying to scare people, but the facts are investigators on the local, national, and even world level are looking into leads that come in every hour of every day.
“Investigations show us that after an attack there’s always people who knew something was about to happen,” said Carter. “Or suspected it was about to happen, but didn’t let anybody know.”
Carter said it’s important for everyone to report anything they find suspicious to their local police, sheriff’s office, or any other law enforcement agencies. “We know that it can happen in our state.”
