The rain and close-to-freezing temperatures couldn't keep some Oklahoma shoppers from hunting down those discounts.

Black Friday is no longer about standing in line on a Friday morning; it's about getting those deals on Thanksgiving Day.

Some shoppers News 9 talked to say those deals were worth standing outside in the rain and cold.

The lines were long before Thanksgiving dinner got cold. Shoppers lined up at Penn Square Mall when J.C. Penney opened at 3 p.m. Most stores were open at 6 p.m. Thanksgiving Day.

"I didn't have to miss Thanksgiving dinner. I'm all stuffed and ready to shop!" a shopper told News 9.

Pam bought a $149, 50-inch TV at Best Buy for her husband and it's also a gift for her.

"That way he's watching it in his man cave and not the room I want to be in," she said.

Even at midnight, the outlet mall was buzzing with shoppers lured by many stores offering more than 50 percent off. Even the rain couldn't keep Robert away.

"It's not stopping us. It's probably worth it because we don't get this all year long, so there's definitely places where it's worth it," he said.

Best Buy was just one of the stores which opened on Thanksgiving afternoon and stayed open until 1 a.m. It closed for a few hours then reopened at 8 a.m. and stays open until 10 p.m. Friday.
