Hover boards are expected to be a hot seller this holiday season. But for some, the electronic scooters may be a little too hot to handle.
If you're a parent, chances are your child is asking for a hover board this Christmas. But two separate reports of fires may have you changing your mind.
A Louisiana mother believes a hover board she bought her son is to blame for burning down their house. That case is similar to another one in Alabama.
The owner said he just bought the scooter a few days before this happened. He remembers stepping off of it just moments before the hover board exploded, sending pieces flying across his yard. He said he's not sure what caused the hover board to catch fire, and that he followed all of the instructions. He is in the process of seeking a refund.
So far, federal regulators have not issued any recalls for hover boards.
