Del City Sunday School Teacher Faces Charges For Rape Of Underage Girl

A Del City man, who is a convicted rapist, is now facing a second degree rape charge and more. Detectives say Donnie Shultz taught Sunday school at a local church where he met his alleged victim.

It started when the girl was 14-years-old and it continued until she was 16 and finally told someone at Del City High School. But police in Del City believe she's not the only girl.

The girl told police Donnie Shultz forced her to have "sexual intercourse 20-30 times" and perform sex acts on him over a 16-month period.

“He would take this victim with him to residences to do handy man work and while there he would molest our victim,” said Major Jody Suit, Del City Police.

The arrest warrant states Shultz would "video the sex act as well as take photos using his iPhone" then upload them to his computer.

Shultz taught Sunday school at Calvary Christian Center. According to police, that is where he met the girl.

Bishop Paul Sharp declined to be interviewed on camera but called the accusations against the 15-year church member "appalling". He described Shultz as a hard working family man.

Sharp said he was aware of Shultz's prior rape conviction but claimed he never worked with children.

Following his statutory rape conviction in 1995, Shultz was required to register as a sex offender up until 2013.

Friday morning, Del City Police arrested him at his home on rape, child pornography and other charges.

But neighbors have closely watched the home after police cars filled the street last week, and investigators searched his home.

“It worried me. And whenever I did look him up it said that he had been in trouble before for rape and it started to worry me more and more,” said a neighbor.

And the investigation is not over.

“We do believe we have another victim. We are still trying to identify her,” said Major Suit.

In addition to the rape charge, Schultz faces child pornography and lewd acts with a child charges.
